If you’re a customer of Oracle’s Fusion software, did you put a lot of thought into a process for testing the software before you made your purchase? Most customers we spoke to didn’t! As a buyer of enterprise software you concern yourself with functionality, adoption, usability, migration. All are important considerations and warrant careful thought and planning. When you’ve figured out all the aforementioned concerns and you’ve successfully implemented the software, you had better come up with a plan for testing your instance. Oracle has a quarterly release cycle for security fixes and critical patch updates. Security is paramount for retailers of online software. So now you have Fusion up and running - IT is happy, the business is happy, all smiles and joy. Until that first update deadline looms. Like most businesses you get the users to test. Or you have the luxury of two willing testers. John likes to perform tests like this and Steve likes to perform tests like that. There’s no consistency or continuity to your process. Let’s face it, testing isn’t the most glamorous job out there. Stories like this are all to familiar to the business.
